Who We Are
Masjid Al-Salaam is a registered charitable Islamic centre located in Edmonton, Alberta, serving as a hub for worship, education, and community life for Muslims across Northeast Edmonton and the broader Edmonton and Northern Alberta region.
Located at 550 Clareview Rd NW, our centre supports the five daily prayers, Quran memorization and literacy programs, Arabic language instruction, and educational classes for children, youth, and adults, under the guidance of our Head Imam. Beyond religious services, we serve as a community hub — offering programming, family support, and a welcoming space that reflects the diversity of Edmonton's Muslim population.
We welcome individuals of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and walks of life, and are committed to building an inclusive, connected community that contributes positively to the broader Edmonton area.
Our Methodology
Masjid Al-Salaam's teaching is grounded in classical Islamic scholarship, drawing directly from the Quran and the authentic teachings of Prophet Muhammad ◮, as understood and practiced by the earliest generations of Muslim scholars. This traditional, text-based approach emphasizes sound knowledge, careful scholarship, and continuity with over 1,400 years of Islamic learning.
Our programs prioritize clarity, authenticity, and accessibility — helping community members of all backgrounds and levels of knowledge build a strong foundation in their faith. We value evidence-based teaching, respect for scholarly consensus, and a learning environment that welcomes questions and encourages critical engagement with our tradition.
We are committed to fostering good character, community cohesion, and civic responsibility alongside religious education — helping individuals grow as engaged, contributing members of both their faith community and Canadian society.
“And your god is one God. There is no deity except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.”
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:163
